The wooden sushi bowl is held together with brass bands and is made of cypress or pine wood. The wooden bowl is also known as a "sushi oke" or "hangiri" and should be soaked in water or wetted before use. Wetting the wood will help keep the cooked rice from sticking and also will expand the wood and close up any seams that appear when dry. Available in 3 sizes, 12 inch for $39.95, 14 inch diameter for $44.95 and a 15 inch diameter for $49.95. ***There is little to no glue used in these bowls so when the bowl is not in use, the bands and or base may become loose.
